My name is Duncan Barkes. I am a highly experienced national broadcaster, journalist and podcast producer.
I have worked for some of the world's leading broadcasters, including the BBC, Sky News and many other national radio stations, presenting speech programmes.
These include BBC Radio Five Live, BBC World Service and LBC. I have also broadcasted extensively across the BBC local radio network in England, as well as BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Scotland.
My work has seen me interview global heads of state, leading politicians and celebrities, along with hundreds of extraordinary people with amazing experiences and stories to share.
The human voice is a powerful tool. We all have photos on our smartphones or computers of family occasions or special moments, but a picture rarely tells the full story.
I believe a lasting audio recording of a loved one, talking about their life and experiences is one of the greatest legacies you can create.
I can help you do this in a comforting and natural way.
My father died when I was nine years old. I was an only child. He was a Merchant Navy seaman at a time when mobile phones, smart devices, computers and the internet were not available as instant means of communication.
As well as an abundance of postcards sent from every corner of the globe, he used to send home audio cassettes. One side was dedicated to my mum, the other to me.
These recordings contained his thoughts; where he was in the world and how his time at sea was going. Most importantly, these recordings conveyed love. It was his voice talking about missing his family and his home.
I only have one of these cassettes left now and it is over 40 years old. It is one of the most cherished items in my possession. I know how powerful the voice of a loved one is.
Let me help you to tell your story.
